East Grinstead Meads FC was formed in 1997 and has steadily grown so we now provide over 300 youngsters in the East Grinstead community football coaching and matches for age groups from 6 to 19 years. The club is organised and overseen by volunteers and is run on a non-profit making basis with all income being used for the benefit of the players. The club continues to grow, adding an Adult team for the first time in 2012 providing an on-going opportunity for the older age groups to continue the sport.
We are affiliated to The FA and Sussex County FA. The club prides itself on providing “Football for All” as we do not hold trials for any youth team and accept players regardless of ethnicity, gender and ability, only requiring their enthusiasm and commitment.
Our values have been rewarded as in recent years as we have won the Sussex “Charter Standard” Club of the year in 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2013, awards we are very proud of. Also in 2013 we were awarded South East Regional Charter Standard Club by the FA and within Sussex, the club was voted Sports Club of the year by public vote. This award covers clubs from all sports played within Sussex.
The clubs policy is to provide football for all in a safe and friendly environment. The club are also very proud of becoming one of only a handful of clubs in Sussex to achieve FA Development Charter Status. As part of the FA Charter our coaches have completed training courses including FA Level 1 & 2 Certificates, FA Youth Module Awards, Emergency First Aid, Child Protection qualifications and have completed Enhanced DBS/CRB Checks.
Please visit the age group pages for more details about matches and training.
Additional funding and sponsorship would be welcome from local businesses. Please contact the Chairman (steve@egmeadsfc.co.uk ) for more information.
